Default lazy husky

HEY!
thank you everyone for your help on my previous post
but i have a new problem... well i guess its not a problem rather

HES LAZY!!!
lol he doesnt do anything while im home. i try to train him and he knows the common commands such as sit, stay, come but he does it when he wants to. how do i change this? he doesnt play with any toys and when we go out. he just stands there next to me as we walk. (i know this is a good thing)
also a few days ago i went to the dog park and he just roams around the dogs. he sociable i know that because the first time i took him to the dog park he was so wild and happy. he met like every dog there and stuff. i know huskies are fairly lazy dogs. or they can be. should i try and train him outside? i'm trying to move onto more difficult tricks such as touch, speak, stay from far distance. etc

We're airconditioned but that doesn't seem to make any difference... they'll just lay in the cool breeze! Give him time and check his health status... (the simplest way is to check if his nose is humid) Best of luck!!!

I agree about it being hot....My Husky is a ball of energy but with the heat I'm lucky if I can just get her to go outside to potty never mind playing....In the summer she spends half her day sleeping on the kitchen floor.

What exactly is your question? I don't agree with what you said about huskies being lazy. They are normally pretty active, as they were bred to be. About the not wanting to do tricks, well, being a husky owner yourself, you should know they are pretty independent and not like a german shepherd or golden retriever. There's not really anything to do but keep training sessions fun and exciting, otherwise he/she will get bored, because huskies do get bored very easily.

It's alot of work to train a husky reliably, but its possible. I have owned 3 huskies before, and on my way to getting another tommorrow, so I would know.

I will give you my 2 cents here. Get a scooter and train him to pull. You can not train a Husky like anyother breed. A husky is a stubburn breed. They are working dogs.
Go to the website. www.dogslovetorun.com. Or look it up over the yahoogroup. You will be amazed what a husky or other breeds are doing.

maybe you have such an entuiast (sp) near you. He or she can train you. I wish you luck.
