I definetly see the shepherd in him. I don't know, he looks more like a shepherd/lab/pit cross of some sort. But then, you say his mom looks like a fox, which makes me think of some sort of akita or shiba. I dont see it in him though. Are you sure the dam stands three feet when sitting? That's 36 inches. Is she small or big? It might help me understand.

Yeah, I'd definetly say she's shepherd/pit/lab. The mom looks like she has shepherd in her too. Nope, I dont own a mixie at the moment. Im getting a lovely Siberian Husky tomorrow morning though. Once, My parents got my younger sister a pekingese mix that they got from a neighbor on a misconception that she was purebred. She was the most sweetest adorable dog though!

No problem! She's grey and white, I have a picture of her under my thread in the dog chat section. As for what to feed your dog, it really all depends on the breed. Im not too familiar with that type of dog, so I'd suggest asking your vet. They usually have very good advice.

I need help!!
I found a puppy and I have decided to adopt her. Im a first time dog owner, but my husband isn't. He's training (he's in the Army) so I will be learning how to take care of my new puppy mostly by my own. Her name is Nala, and according to a customer rep at PetSmart.. she's 3months old. Does anyone have an idea on what kind of breed she is?

She could be absolutely anything LOL! You can't really guess from a simple photo of such a young pup. Sure the black mask could be a mastiff type breed but she could just as easily be a Border Terrier. So you haven't seen her mother or the rest of the litter? How big is she? What is her character like?
With small pups it can be very difficult to identify the breed, even with purebreds. As a pup people thought my Patterdale was a lab, a pit or a chow - she grew to be 11 inches tall! My vet (not an inexeperienced layman!) laughed when he saw my Jack Russell puppy. He said that no way was he a terrier - he was a border collie! Hmmm - he is now three years old, 10 inches tall and terrier through and through!
Tell us a bit more about your dog (and his parentage if you know it) and his size.
