Mine are American Pit Bull Terriers. Actually, American Staffordshire Terriers are the same breed. It just depends on the registry as to what they call them. That's why you can't tell the difference

Thanks for the compliments. Denali is a red piedbald. The other side of her face is all white except for 1 red spot above her eye. I think I have a pic that shows it. It's not the greatest pic. LOL Oh, well.

Thank you very much. Oh & do you mean the breed or my red/white dog? LOL She's the only guard dog in the house. LOL Spike barks, but then he stops when the person comes in. Star doesn't even bark! LOL She just jumps on them & licks them. She'd let someone walk off with the house. So Denali makes up for it.

You have very beautiful dogs! I think the next dog I get will probably be American Staffordshire Terrier or at least one that has that in it's lines. A lot of people don't breed the American Pit Bull Terrier breed right anymore. They breed them WAY too big. I like the smaller size. The size they're supposed to be. Like yours & mine.

Aww! Thanks. She's the biggest handful. LOL I hink my favorite one is Star. But all my dogs are cuddlers. Denali loves to cuddle more than the rest though. This is definately an awesome breed. My husband used to LOVE collies & shepherds. We got Star & he changed his mind completely. Shepherds are too noisy for us now. LOL None of my dogs are noisy dogs. Our house is pretty quiet most of the time unless there's someone at the door. The only downfall to the breed now is all the bans & restrictions that hinder where you can live with them if you want them to be able to be treated like any other dog. But that has nothing whatsoever to do with the breed.

Its those restrictions that has stopped me haing a Pitbull, here,in the UK the poor dog wouldn't have the chance of a normal life....Before the DDA came into force a lot of my friends had them....They were as you describe big softeis, which like nothing better than cuddles....

I think they are very intelligent dogs. People underestimate them. They are also very loyal to their owners. People tend to shy away from these types of dogs and give them a bad name. But for the most part if the dog is introduced to people and children early into their puppy stage there really is no threat.

I believe it is the owner who is responsible for the proper temperment training and making sure the dogs are handled on a regular basis by people when they are pups.

I had a friend who had one and never let it socialize with people. They always locked him in a cage when people came over. Now the dog bites if he doesn't know you. She is going to lose that dog, I keep telling her.

Aww! That's so sad. I couldn't imagine not letting my dogs socialize with peopel or other animals for that matter. Not that I'm perfect...but I do try.

It is sad to lock a dog in a cage, be it a pitbull or a daxie, cages are a godsend used in the right context, but to shut it away all the time is just plain cruel!

I completely agree with that Taz. It's so sad how some people misuse a perfectly good training aide.

What is the point of having a dog, just to shut it in a crate....My 3 girls are my best friends, where I am, they are, if I go out in the car, ven for some groceries they come with me...I just cannot understand people who get a dog and shut it away, is it maybe a status symbol??

I don't know why a lot of people keep their dogs locked away all the time. I crate my dogs sometimes. It's only when I'm going to be gone for a while & I'm going somewhere that I can't take the dogs. I only crate them to ensure that they won't fight while I'm gone.

I personally have never owned a pitbull, but I love them. Our dog trainer would bring hers over to socialize with our 2 dogs (it was a rescue Pitbull). I thought that she was so smart and loving.
