Default Husky/Australian Cattle Dog Mix

Hi, I just got my Duke, a husky, australian cattle mix, he is 10 months. Do you guys have any ideas for keeping him happy and exercised. I walk him about a hour a night on the nights that I work and about 4-5 hours on my days off (3-4 days a week) and have quite a few puzzle toys for him like the hide a bees, kongs, buster food cube and others. I am getting him enrolled in puppy obedience classes next weekend. We also have a large very securley fenced in back yard he has constant access to and bought a few dog game books. I would really welcome any tips, games or anything else you might be able to provide for me! Thanks!

It sounds like your doing a great job with Duke! Just two thing i want to say:
1)If he goes through kongs really fast try this. Fill it up with whatever you usually do, but make sure there is something like cream cheese or peanut butter mixed in with what ever is in there(anything that will freeze) Then put a layer of whatever freezeable substance you used over the top of the kong and stick it in the freezer for a few hours. Again, you only really have to do this if he finishes kongs really fast. Just thought I would share that.
2)It is always good to let Duke socialize with other dogs, I know my dog loves it. If there is a dog park near by you should take him every once in a while. Or if you have friends with dogs you should have them play. They just tire out so fast when the play. Of course, only do this if he likes other dogs.

Anything you can think of to stimulate his mind is great, like "hide and go seek" or "find the treat"
Sounds like you have a lot to do and I think Duke will be very happy! Good Luck!
