Default What breed do you think he is

He was found where my husband works outside in the cold and we gave him a home. We think he is around 3 months and he weights 28 pounds. We would like to know what breeds he may have in him.

looks like a Mastiff (from byb or mill) or a mastiff mix. Cute boy, nobody reported him missing huh? make sure you check with area vets, shelters, town hall, etc. before you get to attached as somebody may have just lost him.

Because of his size and color, he is DEF either pure mastiff or mixed with a mastiff.

I agree he could have been "dumped" by a BYB or puppy mill because he isnt up to standards and couldnt be sold (happens a lot).

Just make sure you have him on puppy food for at least two years. and a good quality puppy food. I'd suggest Solid Gold Wolf Pup. It might seem more expensive at first but you feed SO much less of the higher quality stuff. The reason for staying on puppy food for so long is because regular adult food will make him grow too fast which will result in a ton of hip and joint problems.

I ditto checking around at local vets and humane societys. You can probably post up a found add at local petsmarts/petco's/other feed stores and at your local Humane Society. (or the nearest HS near where you found him)

He's either a Mastiff or a Mastiff mix. My cousin has one the only difference is my cousin's dog, Cane's, head is boxy. However there are several different types of mastiffs and even dogs in the same breed can have varying features.

I definitely see Mastiff in him. He'll be a big boy and good job for giving him a home!

I also see Mastiff. And maybe Great Dane. The pics are small, and he's still pretty young. When he's older it will be easier to tell. Maybe, LOL.

I've already commented---"pretty dog" but just looked at pics again and I love that pup--esp. like the middle pic ---I stated before I wondered if he had some boxer---I had a boxer many years ago and this pup still makes me think of him---at least as a pup, but some breeds have some same "looks"! I sure would like to know what he is though. Please keep pics coming as he gets older!

i reckon he could be a mastiff with maybe a cross with something, he's got the head and looks and looks like he's going to be a big boy.
