Default One more dog who needs an opinion about his breed :-)

Here we have "Chance", a 4month old mutt I got a couple of weeks ago from a shelter. He got his name because first he survived his brother who was put down by the shelter. A few days later he got sick with parvo. He survived that too against all odds and the opinion of two different vets. And finally he survived all the other dogs in the shelter that had to be put down to prevent a parvo epidemic in the shelter.

He is already pretty big (app 18inches high and weighs 40 lbs) and I expect him to grow to at least 24" and 80 lbs.
He is fairly laid back for a puppy, could be, though, that he grew up in a kennel and therefore still does not know how to control his long legs. He has a dark bark like an adult dog and a pretty loud howl. Pretty smart, potty trained within a few days and learns commands quick.
He doesn't seem to shed much but has a strong doggy smell.
I have no idea what breeds he got mixed up with - any suggestions?

First day - checking out sourroundings. Pretty skinny, though.

Chance on his fourth day treatment for parvo.

First steps on still waggely legs when starting to recover.

Either Rottweiler or Doberman because of his coloring (Im leaning more towards rottie because he looks pretty wide and like he'll be really stalky, dobies are really skinny dogs)

The long hair throws me off but his wild face hair reminds me of a german shepard puppy. So thats a possibility.

Thanks for the responds! :-)
I was wondering about a rottweiler too but he will probably get fairly longhaired and has some wirey hair in his face. Also he is not tan but brindle and has all these white spots.
His brother was, if I remember it right, all black, maybe a few white markings (now I wished I would have taken him, too :-( ).
The shelter suggested some kind of hound? I tried to take some close up pictures of his face and ears - but you know how puppies are: if you try to make them sit still everything from your big toe to the cat to your camera gets really important and needs to be checked! :-)

I can see the hound now because if his snout. But that could also be if maybe he's mixed with a dobie.

Females can get preggo's by up to 3 males when she is in heat. So there is NO telling what he is for sure.

Either way he is a cutie pie!!!
