Post Need Information Saint Bernards

Hello, I'm getting a Saint Bernard pup soon, and was wondering on basic feeding. I would like to know approx. amount of lbs a month a Saint Bernard puppy and adult would eat.

If anyone can answer this I would be really thankful. :-D

Thank-you very much

Hello--St. Bernards are such cute dogs that's really neat that you're getting one. That being said, I don't really know what the feedings would be, but you could always call up your future vet and ask him/her. Also you can check some websites. I hope this sort of helps, good luck. :^)

Your best bet is to talk to breeders that are found through the St. Bernard club of America. With a giant breed (or any breed for that matter) you should not even think about getting a puppy from a breeder who is not a member in good standing of the breeds national parent club. This breed as A LOT and I mean A LOT of health problems (so many infact that I know a breeder who changed breeds). Make sure you see PROOF that the breeders dog's have ALL their health clearances through OFA & CERF.... No Proof - NO PUPPY! I groom a St. Bernard from a BYB/Mill who was 7 mos old when he had his First hip replaced ($5,600) and was getting his second one replaced at 11 months old. He also had horrible allergies to EVERYTHING and constant eye problems. They are a nice breed but there is much more to think about than how much they eat. Good Luck in your search and make sure to research, research, research!
