This poor pup came up to my wife in the parking lot of her job. We posted signs, reported to the local Humane Society, and checked the local newspaper. No one claimed her, but my heart did. She's bright, loving, and fastidiously clean. I have taken her to the vet for all shots, and we're discussing having her spayed. The vet says she's between 9 and 12 weeks old, but I'm getting mixed signals from everyone as to her breed. She currently weighs a shade less than 5 lbs., and is 17 inches from muzzle tip to tail base. Any confident and informed declarations as to her breed will be MUCH appreciated. And though I'm hoping she'll grow to a nice size for loose leash training, I am and will be devoted to her, regardless of her parentage. I named her "Souka", Japanese for "homeless".

The markings are pretty distinct to a choc Dobie. So maybe a dobie/lab mix? It will be easier to tell when she gets bigger. She is a cutie though!

I agree with Sway, she looks Lab/Dobie to me as well. But the curled tail is not in either breed, so it could be mixed with another dog, what I'm not sure. Souka is cute though.

Definitely some Dobie in there...more than "some" really...not pure but definitely got Dobie... as to the other??????

I appreciate all input from my new forum friends. As I said before, I have taken her to a vet for shots, consultation for having her spayed, and a complete check-up. Would you all believe this vet says she thinks Souka is a dachshund? LOL WHile dachshunds may be fine dogs, I was secretly hoping doberman makes up the greater part of her breeding. I'll not dock the tail, nor crop the ears, but I eagerly look forward to the long walks and runs that a doberman can share. Again.....My gratitude to all who contributed their opinions.
