we rescued this big guy yesterday from a local shelter. he was picked up as a stray. he is guessed to be 1-2 yrs old and weighs 75 pounds. the guesses on breed are mostly shepard with some husky. someone said wolf cuz he is pretty big but there is no howling and very little barking so we're not sure of husky or wolf. i was also curious how this mix would fair with cats since we have 2. any help would be great.
I would lean to Malamute and Shepherd. In the case of cats, Huskies usually do not do well with them. Its not to say all but Huskies generally do not.

like Yogi said, huskies don't usually do well with small animals. Although my Timber who is pure siberian husky does exceptionally well with our chihuahua and cat. he doesn't play rough with either of them. I believe I got lucky. I think if you properly introduce him/her to the cats and watch them carefully when together it could work out.
where your dog is big I would say malamute and shepard. huskies usually stay around 45 to 55 pounds average.
either way, he/she is adorable. hope it all works out with your cats. what did the shelter say? did they do any testing to see if he is ok with small animals? I know some do and some don't so thought I would ask.
ok so the guess for your dog are just about head to head with my dog......if you ignore the colors that they are and see that my dog is very chunky they kinda look alike.......if you want to see you can go to my post...its under this same subject an titled "any guesses?" hope that helps :-D
