This handsome boy is Zuzu. He's an 18 month old white shepherd as you can see. He is purebred but has no papers, Truthfully, we don't really care about that. He is a recent rescue that we are keeping as a playmate for our male,
13 month old lab/weimer Ace. Zuzu comes from an unfortunate circumstance and has 18 months of play, excersize and attention to catch up on. He is house trianed and has a great temperment. We are VERY pleased. He is fixed and healthy with the exception of some sort of skin allergy which I believe was compounded by months kept in a Florida garage. The vet has seen him and has presecribed antibiotics and a steriod. We got some anti-itch spray for him as well. The vet has mentioned that it is common for white haired dogs to have skin allergies and the info I have found on the breed has supported this.
Does anyone else with a dog with skin allergies have any home remedies that have helped your animals? We live in Florida so heat will always be a factor but all our dogs are indoor with the exception of play time and potty time. We have a perfect backyard too.
Any help with the allergies would be greatly appreciated. I hope you enjoy the pics.
PS- Yes we know he's underweight, and we are working on that. He's been had only dry food that he didn't like and no excercise for at least 3-4 months if not longer. So two meals a day (wet/dry) and afternoons at the dog park should start to rebuild the muscle he's lost.
