Exclamation Must have your help

I adopted our dog through our ARL, when I looking at her I told the ARL that I wanted a dog between 20 to 25 lbs. They assured me that she wouldn't get over 25 lbs and would be no bigger than what she was now (3 months old) they told me she was a bassett hound mix. I loved the way she looked and acted so I took her home. Now 1 year later and she has double in size and is 40lbs. However after doing searching on my own I have found out that she is a border collie and possible beagle mix(due to her temper and actions that beagle have), but I'm thinking she might have a 3 mix her front legs are slanted out wards instead of straight which I have found in some border collie books but I want to make sure.

ya the guy i bought my potbelly pig from said the same thing, she wont get any bigger than a med size dog, doesnt shed, and wont get very heavy. well she did stop growing after the first two years, weighing in at 180 pounds. sure not bigger than a med dog but all 180 pounds was compacted in to the little size animal. it really hurt when she stepped on your foot and she shed terribly you just didnt see the hair until it was stuck in your clothing poking you in all the wrong places. but i loved her and had her for 8 years god rest her soul. i would do it again if i was more mobile.

anyhow the moral behind the story-- Don't believe everything you are told until you do a lot of research.
