heres a guess the breed for you,bit of fun
now i know what he is,first pic when i took him on at 7 mths

he looks like a cross lab but dont be fooled, lol
this is him 6 weeks later

a few clues, hes now 12 mths and stands at 32" at the wither, built like a tank and has a very high prey drive,go on get going, the difference here is you will get the answer see if your right, its just for fun

My 1st guess of course would of been Lab--but you indicate not!! How about some Great Dane and/or Doberman! Is this dog unusually tall for the breed that he is!?

I personally think he looks like a pure Dane.

Well, I know my initial thought to the first pic was close, but was missing an element I couldnt place until the 2nd pic, lol
Due to head shape, skull shape, over all size and breed characterisitics, I am thinking a lab/Dane mix.
Very close to pure dane, but many characteristics say he isnt competely pure and I think the balance is lab.
