Talking About to adopt a Scottish Terrier puppy

Hi, I am thinking of adopting a Scottish Terrier and know little about them other than what I have researched. I would love some personal experiences. I am a very clean and tidy person and live in a large apt with a small outdoor space. Are they easy to house break. Do they chew. Do I need to spend a lot of time with training. I work from home but venture out on week-ends. Are they independent. Just a few questions of many.

I would appreciate some personal experiences with raising an eight week old Scottie.

Thanks!

Default Scotties....

Hi!
I do not own a Scottish terrier, but my cousin does and we see them a lot. Her name is Matilda, by the way.
Okay, well Scottish terriers tend to dig A LOT so be prepared for that. They do not require lots of excerise, but they would love that. They are best with older children because they tend to nip at young kids who pull at their fur. They looove affection and praise, and to be taught tricks. Especially--Matilda's absolute favorite--to stand on their hind legs. They barely shed and you should brush it once a week to keep from matting. they weight about 19-20 pounds and live for about...12-15 years. they're very playful, smart and loyal. they love almost everyone. Some diseases they may get are...Willebrands disease, cataracts, atopy, Cystinuria, some jaw disease, leg cramps, and dental issues.
Hope this helps! You'd love your Scottie as i love Matilda!

I forgot to add that they are easy to housebreak, may chew sometimes, do great in appartments and love small little backyards, and are far from independent!

A terrier by any other name is STILL a terrier. They are wonderful dogs! However, they tend to be somewhat stubborn, love to dig, and are usually very intelligent to the point where they'll get into situations you wouldn't have believed possible. In my experience, terriers are big dogs in little dogs bodies. Many of them are fearless and don't realise how small they actually are.

On the other hand, they are very loyal, make great companions, like nothing better than spending time with you and are super at cuddling!!!

What is it about that particular article? I've seen the link posted several times now.
