Default What breeds do you think my dog is?

Hey guys I'm new here. This is my dog Sadie. She is 14, my family found her while on a vacation is Kentucky when she was a stray puppy. We took her in and she has been an awesome dog her whole life. She is obviously a mutt, but we have never had any clue what types of dogs make up her pedigree. Any guesses guys? She is ~30 pounds, I've included a pic of her beside a Lab of ~70 pounds.

Hello,

By the coat, I would say part Golden but by the ears and face structure, I think your dog could also be part Husky/Malamute. Very good looking dog!!

I too am thinking Siberian Husky. I have a golden retriever/cocker mix. I don't see the Golden----A question: How thick and 'rough' is the coat? A Golden has softer looking hair and is quite feathered. (A little hard to tell from the pics) I have a book on breeds with pics and descriptions. Here is the description it gives for the Husky: Strong compact working dogs. The face mask and underbody are usually white and the remaining coat any color. Mismatched eyes are common. The large "snowshoe" feet have hair between the toes for grip on ice. Brush the coarse, medium-length hair twice a week. The wooly undercoat comes out in clumps twice a year and requires extra care. Bathing is difficult and mostly unnecessary, as the coat sheds dirt. An occasional dry shampoo should be enough to keep the coat looking clean. Because they are friendly and bark little, they are ineffective watchdogs, but their wolf-like appearance may deter intruders. Docile and affectionate, they enjoy family life and are dependable around children. Noted for its speed and stamina. (Lol, I might as well tell what it says on exercise and feeding too---may be some clues there too!)--Need a fair amount of exercise, but don't overdo it in warm weather. Because of their heavy coats, these dogs are unsuited to life in hot climates and should not be excessively exercised in warm weather. They need a large yard with a high fence, but bury the wire at the base of the fence because they are likely to dig their way out and go off hunting. Huskies are thrifty feeders and need less food than you might expect. Male: 21-23" (shoulder height) and 45-60 lbs. Female: 20-22" and 35-50 lbs. Let me know if this sounds a lot like your dog!

Hey a lot of that stuff does sound like Sadie! She definitely has the coarse medium length hair which sheds quite a bit, and even had the hair underneath her toes like described. She is also quite a thrifty eater. I am now convinced that she is part Husky, thanks!

Question Can you help me determine the breed of my dog

My puppy's name is Koda and I dont know what breed he is. We adopted him from a not so nice place and they didnt care to know anything about him. He is a small dog in stature, but some people say he looks like a lab. Can you help?

Looks like a lab to me but pretty young yet and the black background doesn't help to show him off. In my breed book it says this: Solid , powerful frame--good swimmer--The tail, described as an "otter" tail, is thick at the base, round and tapered. The coat is dense and waterproof with no feathering. Comes in solid colors, but occasionally with white markings on the chest. Smooth, shorthaired, double coat is easy to groom.

In rechecking the pics--It appears your puppy has more white on the belly and a lab supposedly has only occasional white markings on the chest, BUT, if it is a mix I guess the white could be from some other breed!
