What kind of dog is he??
hey hey,
just joined this forum.
i rescued Max from a shelter today,
he's 8 months old, @ 15 lbs, & i'm wondering
what kind of a dog he is. the folks at the shelter
had different opinions -- terrier/beagle, terrier/pug (which i don't think he is!),
etc.....
i was hoping some of you could offer your opinions....
thanks!

Welcome to the forum!
Not an expert, but I see Beagle for sure (My daughter has about 4-5 of them) I really can't see chihuahua at all! For part of the mix I would lean toward Jack Russell but I think there is more Beagle than anything else. In my breeds book --about the chihuahua-male: 2-6 lbs. and only 6-9" from shoulder down! And the pics in the book look nothing like your dog. I see no Pug either.
P.S. One of my 2 dogs is named Max but, lol, gets called Paxy or Paxer most of the time! Can see my dogs in my album on my profile page if you want--Max is the pure cocker spaniel and Corky is cocker/golden retriever.

Your dog could be a mixture of chihuahua, beagle, and Jack Russel. I've owned plenty of mixed breeds, and a grand total of two or three pure-bred dogs in my whole life, so I'm pretty well versed in mixtures. (God that sounds snotty!)
I see chihuahua and beagle, personally. The domed head and short muzzle just scream chihuahua. But at the same time, some factors of the face are definately beagle. Just because it doesn't have the height or build of a specific breed doesn't mean that the dog isn't. My close friend breeds pure-bred Australian Shepherds, and her line looks nothing like the 'standard.' They're inches taller and have a more bear-like appearance than any I've ever read in the books, yet the line is AKC registered.
The third pic really brings out those chihuahua features I was talking about. So adorable, by the way! <3

thanks corky & kanga --
i appreciate it!
yeah, we're pretty sold on the triple mix now too ---
so maybe Max is a jackibeechi?
he's turning out to be such a little sweetheart,
alot more hyper than our shitzu, but a real loving
affectionate guy!
