Question Medium, low energy, non shedding dog

Hello everyone,
My husband and I want to get a dog but he is allergic, so are looking for a hypoallergenic dog (I know they still shed), medium size and with a low energy level. Any suggestions? I'm having a hard time with this.
Thanks!

I don't know if that is possible - certainly not in a puppy. But I have a friend with severe asthma and the only dog the family could have is a dalmatian. They are low shedding but not that small and I don't know what they are like energy wise - but any pup will be really demanding. The only low energy dog of any breed is an adult LOL! I understand that poodles are good as well.

I hesitate to recommend any breed of dog to someone who has allergies. If it doesn't work out, the dog is ALWAYS the loser.

We have a peke-a-poo...when she was young she had lots of energy but she would also settle down and cuddle. She does not shed and has not been a problem for me and I have breathing problems too. Before the peke-a-poo I had Wire Fox Terriers and they were not overly roudy either, although I know some are...again they do not shed.
