Default What breed is my puppy?

Can someone look at my album and try to see what breed my puppy is? We seem to think he is pittbull....see what you think??? I posted pics on my profile. We rescued him from going to a pound and the people who had him didn't know. Thanks!!

Truth is, it is far to early to determine the breed. Only rarely in a pup can you actually tell the breed or breeds. It is best to see what he looks like when he gets to be around 6 months of age and starts to mature. At that time growth pattern and coat will begin to change. Appearances can be deceiving when they are this young.

I agree with Yogi--too young to tell. My daughter just got a brindle colored bulldog/boxer mix. He is prob. about the same age as your dog. At this tender young age yours reminds me of her dog. Now how much different they both will look when they get older, who knows. But being as we know what mix hers is --I can see the boxer coloring (although there are quite a few breeds that can have the brindle coloring but that is one hint to help rule out some dogs that don't have the brindle. Her dog also has the white socks look of the boxer (Boxers also can have a white chest).
Darn! I have a breeds book with pics but can't check out more things right now as , lol, I lent her that book to read about her dog! But this is a great site to check out a lot of breeds (pics and info):
Dog Breed Info Center®, DBI You may not be able to really guess your breed yet, but like I mentioned you can look for 'hints' and also rule out maybe some breeds. (I don't think the brindle color can change--at least until it gets to be an old dog and gets 'gray' with old age--Can it change when it becomes full-grown-- YOGI?) As far as the pitbull someone else mentioned (Wish I had my breeds book handy--It mentions all the different colors of each breed.)--Does the pitbull come in a brindle color ever?
And it is hard to tell if that could be a pitbull face yet---It could be a boxer or a bulldog or other breeds that have that wider face---Face is going to change a lot as it gets older! I don't have your pics in front of me right now but I am thinking your pup (like my daughter's) is prob. going to not have the shorter legs like (yours) a pitbull and (hers)-a bulldog. I hope you will keep us posted as your dog keeps growing (with pics)--so we can do a better job of trying to figure out what it is!! Besides I am really interested to see if my daughter's dog and yours turn out to be about the same look, lol. Even if not,
it will show me just how different things can be once both these dogs mature!

As far as the face of my daughter's pup--which right now looks a lot like your pup--It doesn't look so much like a bulldog (yet?) and I would never have guessed bulldog if I didn't already know that it was part bulldog!--and I'm not saying it has that much of a boxer face right now either.
The face is going to 'mold' as it grows older.

Hey, now stick around--want to hear more about your new puppy!
