What is Joey
My sister got Joey about 18 months ago from a shelter in florida and they told her they thought he was a boxer beagle mix. I've been looking and I think he is a staffordshire terrier and something else. Anyone have a guess, I really don't think he is a boxer based on his size. He is about 20 inches at the shoulder and 40#. Let me know your thoughts and thanks!

Welcome to the forum
I don't see Beagle either, although if he is a mix of a smaller dog and a bigger dog----Could weigh in between the 2 breeds--which ever being the most dominant too could make the difference--same goes for the height. But in my breeds book it has the weight of the Amer. staff. terrier being 40-50# and height-17-19 inches so this does fit the size pretty well.--a 'hair' above the height --only an inch! It does resemble the staffie as well as a boxer, lol, maybe it is a mix of both but prob. there is a little smaller breed involved as to the size of this dog. I am giving you links to check out pics. and descriptions of the 2 breeds: American Staffordshire Terrier Information and Pictures
Boxer Information and Pictures, Boxers
Note that at bottom of these pages, there are more pages of pics. to click on--Wow!--The boxer one has about 12 pages. You can click on all breeds at top of page (when you are done with the 2 breeds) if you want to check out any other breed too---Gives a long list of breeds that is 'done' alphabetical. Very good site!!

Yea I agree with Staff. Staff's are similar to pits in appearance. Both related.

He looks a lot like my dog which I'm trying to figure out what she is. They have a lot of the same markings, even the white tip on the tail. I just posted pictures of her asking what people think she is.
