What do you lot reckon of my puppy?
Hey! I am the proud owner of Shady!
6 months old and he is a great little dog, however we are unsure of his breed.
We saw his mother and she was half american staffordshire bull terrier and half english staffordshire bull terrier. But we never got to see the father.
We can see all the features of a Staffy, however his legs are very thin. His head is small (although we know it will get bigger when it splits) and he fur is longer than most staffs my friends have. Also he seems taller than other staffs who i have seen who are much older. But very skinny. He is healthy, feed plenty and gets load of exercise.
What do you lot think??? We think he may have slight traces of labrador in him.
Cant post pictures until I have 10 posts apparently!
I have pictures in an album on my profile! Have a look and tell me what you think ASAP. i really wanna know lol

Welcome to the forum!
Afraid I am not going to be of any help. Thought when I first saw your pics that I was going to agree with you about the Lab because of color alone but looking in my breeds book--It says that the Staffie can be all black or black with some white. ( I thought they were never pure black!) By the way a pure Lab usually is just one color--occasionally with white markings on the chest. I can't see the Lab having thinner legs--just longer.--
Labs are pretty study dogs too. I am not saying there is no Lab in your pup--Just noting a few things to think about.
Your pup's face sure changed a lot in that 2 months difference in pics! He is a little cutie! If the face changed that much already--will prob. do some more changing in the next few months and then maybe will be able to tell more--Keep us posted as he grows!
Here is the best link to check out the breeds--lot of pics. Just click on the words All breeds at top of page--Will give breeds alphabetically for you to click on. Dog Breed Info Center®, DBI

Cheers
Cheers guys! I will post more pictures of him when he gets a bit bigger!
I reckon its because his mum is half american staff and they are naturally longer legged. But this is all guesswork, I've never had a dog before haha!
Anyone else feel free to have a look and guess what he is!!

Yeh!
Yeah he has definately changed a lot in the last few months! Another strange thing is that his paws are very big. Well whatever the little fella is, we all love him to bits. Me mum wanted a Staffordshire Bull Terrier because she loves how they look. She seems slightly dissapointed, so i joked to her "We can send him to a kennel and get a more authentic one"....and she straight away replied "I could never let someone else look after him.....they wouldn't love him as much as I do".
So there ya go haha! Will post more pictures as he gets older!

New pictures!
Hey my dog is now 9 months old. He is taller than every Staffordshire Bull Terrier I have seen in the parks. He has very long thin legs. When we took him to the vet to be castrated we asked him what he thought. We know he is part Staffordshire Bull Terrier and part American Staffordshire Bull Terrier, but the vet couldn't really say what other breeds he might have in him.
He is growing into a great family dog. VERY cheeky though. Got some new pictures from 8 half months to 9 months. Check them out on my album.
Let me know what you think he is! Definately ruling the labrador out now because he walks with two Labradors every day and he is nothing like them!

You know---I think there could be some Lab there! Just because you think he doesn't look like the 2 labs you see every day---He is not going to look like a full Lab--the Staffie is going to prob. be his main look! Question for you---How tall is he (top of shoulder down)? The male Staffies are 14-16" and American Staffie is 17-19" The Lab is 22-24". (I don't know if a 9 month old is done growing yet.) How much does he weigh right now? What does his tail look like--a lab has an 'otter' tail--thick at the base, round and tapered. They love to swim. As I said, he may not be done growing yet either. Would love to see him when he is done growing for sure--to see how much he may change yet. I can't really tell for sure how wide his face is but I get the impression that it may not be as wide as the staffie's. And thinking maybe the lab has about his size face--plus the ears look like a lab's to me. Here are a couple links---The 1st one is pics of mixed pit bulls and labs (And I can see some that make me see your dog---Pit bulls are of the staffie family so look a lot like staffies--the American anyhow!) The 2nd link is for labs.

Do you have a pic. that shows the side view of his tail when he has it raised somewhat?
