What kind of dog do you think she is?
I found this dog... well I should say she found me back in Aug 09. I was outside watering the yard and she snuck up behind me, when I turned around she was standing there. She seemed pretty unsure of me until I said hey girl. Then she came to me. She was covered with fleas!! I asked a couple of our neighbors if they were missing a dog. I'm sad to say that several of them had seen her running in the street and just left her to possibly get hit by a car. Anyways... I gave her a flea bath instantly!! We tried finding her owner, posting flyers around the area, postings on craigslist, calling the local pounds, and seeing if she was micro chipped. After about 2-3 wks with no luck I decided to keep her my husband didn't want to keep her at first but she was such a good match for our family of one cat and a Weimaraner. I've gotten her spayed and she has put on about 20 lbs since we found her, and she is on flea meds!! She had a terrible skin rash when I found her but that is all healed and we couldn't have gotten a better dog. She used to be very shy handed, and very scared if you would raise your voice, So I think she was abused.After a month or 2 of us having her and giving her nothing but love, she doesn't shy away when you raise your hand, now she knows she is going to be pet not beat. Her name is Layla. I don't know what kind of dog she is. My vet said that she is about 1 yr old, and she is a shepherd, spaniel mix with a little beagle (I find that hard to believe). I think she is part pitt bull, but the vet said no she isn't pitt. So what is your guess? She is very smart and loyal, and she is really good at escaping yards, which is why I think she was a stray. Thank you for your help!! My Weimaraner is in the pictures too, I'm asking about the brown dog. She is about 50lbs. I know she looks kinda small next to my 85 lb boy.

I'm not very good at guessing breeds. Just be patient. It's very early in the morning in some places. As more people log on and see your pictures, I'm sure someone will be able to answer your question.

I don't have much of an answer---The face does look a little like a beagle but this dog is much taller and bigger! I don't really see anything I can put a finger on--Yet he looks 'familiar!' I am wondering if he has 3 different 'mixtures' --This can happen and would make it harder to figure out.
I really don't see Staffie--In your pics it looks like the width of face is narrower---But if a combo of breeds--Who knows how some of the breeds would alter things. A little info from my breeds book--Beagle-14 to 16" (shoulder top down) and 22 to 25#; American Staffordshire Terrier-17 to 19" and 40 to 50#. Golden Retriever-22 to 24" and 60 to 80#.
Here is a link to a good place to look at a lot of pictures of all breeds and gives good descriptions too.- http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/index.htm

I'm not very good at guessing breeds either but I guess I could give it a shot...
She has a fairly broad skull, so I guess there could possibly be a little pit or staff. Maybe some ridgeback because of her size and color??? Again, I'm not too good at guessing breeds so don't take this answer too seriously

Here a photo of a Ridgeback/Pit mix. Anyone else see the resemblance?
*I also could see a little boxer maybe.
Here's a Ridgeback/Boxer mix however I still say pit or maybe even all 3 because of the broader skull of your dog;

I was thinking boxer, but the Ridgie pictures resemble her too. I could imagine pit in there, too.
She's very pretty, whatever she is!

Again, I'm far from an expert, but I'm not seeing spaniel or beagle at all. Spaniels and Beagles are smaller dogs, and you dog is a much bigger dog. Shepherd is a possibility because of size, but I'm not really seeing any Shepherd as far as other features go.
I still think Ridgeback and some pit and or boxer.
Sorry, but I'm not seeing much resemblance in these photos, which are of facial features, let alone size/body type. again, these breeds are possible, but I still see a lot more resemblance with Ridgeback, Pit, and Boxer. Your dog's coloring also doesn't mach much of a Spaniel, Shepherd, or Beagle. Much more similar to the Ridgeback as far as coloring goes.
*Much more resemblace, at least to me, here;
