Default Size estimate

Boxer/German Shepherd Mix

My puppy is 7 weeks and 2 days old (born feb 5th) and is 13.5 pounds.

Any guesses on how big he might get??

Your guess will be as good as anyone's! Here is the info to guess from. It should be anywhere in these ranges:
German Shepherd Dog (male)--75 to 95 lbs.----24 to 26 inches (from shoulder down)
Boxer (male)--60 to 70 lbs and 22 to 24 inches tall (shoulder down)

So anywhere from 60 to 95 lbs----22 to 26 inches

Yes. I agree with everything Corky/Max said. Have you seen the parents? Do you know their sizes? This would narrow down the ranges a bit.

I only saw the mother-- the german shepherd. She looked to be about 50-60 lbs maybe? They said the boxer was about the same size as the mommy but more built so maybe a little heavier.

Just wondering because I want to get him a large crate instead of this baby one so he can get used to it....... but not sure if i should get large or extra large!

He's 13.5 lbs at 7 weeks. Big paws!

prob. not extra large. If both parents were 60-70 pounds (unless they were over or underweight) than your pup probably won't end up getting that much bigger. I'd be surprised if he got over 80 pounds tops. They sell crates that are pretty large but also have dividers so you can break up the size of the crate and give the pup more and more room as he grows. Just be sure it's always just enough room to stand up and stretch out. No more room or he may decide to go potty in there. If there is not much extra room he will have to hold it or lie in it. They will generally hold it because their instincts tells them not to potty where they sleep. This is to act as their den.

The one time you may see a variance in the size when basing it on the sire and dam is if the sire or the dam have a larger parent. This like in people can create for a larger pup.
