My wife and picked up a year old female from a yard sale. Poor girl was dirty and didn't look happy. The owners said she was a pure Shih Tzu which made me laugh but my wife feel in love with her.

Any ideas what mix this little girl may be?

Was this thread posted just a bit ago? I think myself and barb answered. Looks to be a Japanese Chin/shih Tzu mix and I am wondering if anyone else sees a bit of wire haired jack russell...

Don't know - I'm usually the first to spot terrier in just about anything LOL but I can't see Jack Russell in this one. (BTW - there is no "wire coated" Jack)

The face is rounder than a terrier but the muzzle is too pointed for Shi Tzu or Chin I would have thought. The features are quite fine - do you think there could be miniature poodle in there?

What do u call the Jack Russels with the longer coat? That's what I meant.

They shouldn't really have long coats - my dog has a long coat and he is very definitely not breeding/show quality. The wavy haired ones are rough coated. It is coarse with a softer undercoat - not the same feeling as a wire fox terrier.

What do you think of the possibility of a small poodle in this little girl? Or maybe Bichon? She doesn't seem to me to have the nose of a Chin? (Does that make sense LOL!)

Sorry for the repost. She went to the vet today and was told she is crossed with a toy poodle. Vet's best guess...she seemed pretty sure. I was thinking Bichon or perhaps Pomeranian but time will tell as her coat grows out.
