Can you guess what our new puppy is?
Hello all My husband and I just recently adopted a new puppy from our local shelter. He was dropped off along with his two brothers to the shelter in February of this year. We were originally interested in a boxer puppy we spotted, and spent two days in and out of the shelter waiting for hte first hold on her to get back to the office with weither or not they still wanted her. We had noticed the three puppies the day we went in to see about hte boxer, but there was sign saying they were waiting to be picked up. They were romping and playing with each other and seemed very happy, I was glad they were all going together However, upon finding out the boxer we were interested in was adopted out to her first hold, we continued to walk thru the shelter and look for another dog. We spotted the puppy by himself and asked what he was doing there alone. Apparently a family came in, and thought he was too shy, and that his "knowledge bump" wasn't very cute at all, and took his brothers and left him by himself at the shelter. He's depressed, you can tell. But we are hoping that we can give him enough love to feel better soon! Now....to the question. They have him labeled as a "cattle dog/collie mix" on their website, and told us he is "heeler mix" at the shelter. Obviously, it's hard to tell when an animal is dropped off exactly what breed they are. From what I can tell, he does not look like either mix they have described. My husband was curious if he had boxer in him. I will provide more pictures when I have them, for now I have OUR puppy's picture and his brothers from the shelters website. However it won't let me post a link until I have 50 posts, so if you would like to help me out send me a message, and I'll send you the links to thier pictures
Thanks for any help

you can post a pic in your post. Instead of hitting "submit" scroll down on the page below your post where it says manage attachments. Click on it and look for the photo on your computer you want to manage and add it to the post.
Then scroll down to the next "submit" box and click it.

Wonderful looking pup! Looks to me like it is in fact a cattle dog/collie mix. I def. see the cattle dog in the face. Could also be a bit of pit bull in there but it's hard to tell because cattle dog's and pit bull's facial features look similar to some extent.
Glad you rescued him!

A better photo???
That pic you posted is stunning His brother definitely looks like he has collie in him but your boy reminds me of a beagle - although perhaps it is just his eyes. He is incredibly handsome.

I agree about the beagle part! I have a hard time seeing Australian Cattle Dog--color seems a little off---Need to see a full-size side view! In my breeds book: There are 2 coat colors-speckled blue, with tan or black markings, or speckled red, with dark red markings.---Of course ths is a young pup and the coat can change but for right now to me -more of a beagle color (and face). Here is a link to Australian Cattle Dog--Which by the way --Blue Heeler is another name for this Australian Cattle Dog which you will see noted in this link: Australian Cattle Dog Information and Pictures - Blue Heeler The last page of these pics--near bottom is a little more convincing than the other pages of pics --to me anyhow.
Here is a link to many beagle pics: Beagle Information and Pictures, Beagles
So glad you rescued the little guy--He looks like he needed rescuing.

I'm going to guess a boxer/beagle cross.

The sibling (other pic) must have had a different father but the same mother as your pup! They look different--But you do know this is possible in the same litter? Could be even a possibility sometimes as even more than 2 different fathers in 1 litter.
