What mix is this puppy?
On my way to classes I saw something in the woods and it was a puppy. We brought her to the vet they think she is a yellow lab mix. Im just curious to get other opinions. She is only 7 weeks old. Half of her right ear is torn off. Its a shame to think someone would leave her in the woods.

Yes it is hard to believe someone would do such a thing. Good on you for rescuing her!
Very cute pup! Looks to me like some sort of a yellow lad/pit bull mix. Some mastiff could be in there too but I'm thinking mostly lab/pit. Some may say boxer too. Two predominant breeds are, as I said, lab/pit in my opinion. Good luck with her! I'm sure you'll have a great experience with one another! Don't hesitate if u have any questions for us. We'd be more than happy to answer them!

Lol, you have my curiosity up!---How do you know this pup is 7 weeks old Is this a guess made by the vet?
And I can't really guess as far as breed(s)---Too young yet. It is a cutie though and glad you got to keep her! Lol, She must of 'grew' on your mom--I know how that works! (referring to your other post here).;-)

At this point it would be only a guess but, I'll say a lab boxer X.

yeah the vet's said about 7 weeks. She eats her puppy food very well but i noticed while she sleeps she acts as if she is still eating from the mother. another question, what is the best way to potty train a pup? she does very well so far but i would like to minimize as many accidents as possible

For us the greatest thing we did while potty training was to bell train our puppy. We have a bell on a ribbon tied to the door and she taps it when she needs to go potty. We started the process by first introducing her to the bell by putting a bit of peanut butter on the bell when it was potty time and she would of course accidently make the bell ring as she licked it and we would take her out right away. We stopped the peanut butter after about two days and ever since then shes always rang the bell. Our puppy was abandoned too so we got her at 5 weeks and by eight weeks she had the concept down... My father in law who raises therapy dogs uses this same idea and has great success. Good luck in whatever technique u decide to use.. and remember to just be consistent.
