Can anyone help identify this mix?
I recently added a new addition to the family. She's about a year old and from the local shelter. I really want to educate myself as much as I can about her and I am curious as to what her background could be in terms of breed. My bf and I have heard everything from Scottish Terrier/Shih Tzu mix from the pound (our vet said she was definitely not Scottish Terrier mix, has "schnauzer eyebrows", and listed her as Shih Tzu mix) to Cairn terrier.
She loves to dig, loves to play with her squeaky stuffed squirrel and enjoys digging her out from under the couch, doesn't really like to play fetch, loves to sit on laps, is extremely sweet around little kids and all types of dogs (she does get a bit scared of yapping yorkies though but never barks back). She has a medium bark when strangers come around so she's a good watch dog but she has a pretty deep growl like a bigger dog, she curls her paw under like a Pointer when she's outside and spots something. She's about 13 lbs and the vet said she was done growing. We think that her long body might make her a daschund/shih tzu mix. You can't see in the photos, but she has a long tail that has straight and long hair on the top 1/3 of it. I don't know if her hair will get any longer as we've only had her for 2 weeks and she might have gotten a haircut before she came to the shelter this month.
If anyone has any ideas about what kind of mix our little girl is, I would appreciate it. Thanks!

I also see Dachshund---Will be interesting to know if her hair was cut as there are 3 distinct types of coats. My breeds book states: 1. smooth, short and dense
------- 2. longhaired, soft, flat and straight with feathering
------- 3. wirehaired with a short double coat, a beard and bushy eyebrows
The wirehaired is the least common but note the bushy eyebrows.
The book also states this about the Dachshund: BE AWARE--They are enthusiastic diggers and will wreck havoc in a garden.
I can't see Scottish Terrier at all, nor Shih Tzu either for sure.
And I think there could be a bit of Minature Schnauzer but mostly Dachshund.
The 'snout' doesn't look Dachshund from what I can see and not sure if the ears are either--not big/long enough?---So think there is something else mixed in.
Here is a link for 5 pages of dachshund pics and be sure to read the description(s):Dachshund, Dachshunds, Wiener Dog, little hot dog, hotdog dog
And here is a link for 4 pages of Schnauzer pics and info--Be sure to scroll to bottom of page(s)--as advertising interrupts in places.-->
