Default What breed?

Got her from the rescue in Colorado when she was a puppy. They weren't too sure what he is and neither am I but she's incredibly loving and has a great personality! She also has black spots on her tongue if thats means anything? Thanks in advance.

Ah - she is lovely. To me she looks a real mix - there could be just about anything in there. She is very much like my oldest dog - I can see at least 4 breeds in her and, like you, we have no idea at all of what has truly gone into her makeup. One thing about your dog though is that she probably has some chow chow to give the markings on her tongue - unless there are other breeds that have that?

Smile Welcome to the forum!

I doubt that there is chow chow because of the tongue. I just found this on the net that is pretty interesting and over 30 breeds can have the black marks. Chow chows have a more distinct marking than black spots. Here is the link:Help!... My Labrador Retriever Dog Has Black Spots On His Tongue - The Fun Times Guide to Dogs
As Cigwyllt mentioned--looks like a big mixture of breeds but just guessing on the one I see the most--German Shepherd but also Lab, Malinois (a type of Belgian Shepherd Dog), Rottweiler. The face shape is not Shepherd which is why I have mentiond Lab and or Rottweiler.

Also if you would like to see pics and description of these breeds--Here is a great site:
Dog Breed Info Center®, DBI
Just click on All Breeds at top of the page.

Your dog is a very good-looking dog. What is her name?

Yeah, I knew she had some sort of shepherd in her whether it be german or belgian. I've had her pegged for most of what you guys are describing, her head almost faintly resembles a pitbull's head, especially when she's running or panting and sometimes her stance and shoulders. Ah who knows haha! Anymore feedback is definitely welcome! She's great around new people too, can be a bit rough when playing with other dogs but she never shows signs of aggression (she allows others to be dominant during play as well) but it sucks because everyone around here has small dogs and is intimidated by her size (around 45lbs) even though shes a total sweetheart!

Her name is Leia, after Princess Leia from Star Wars :-P

That name suits her I think! She is lucky to have you in her life---She looks happy and healthy too. Thanks for rescuing her--Wish I could reach out and pet her--Give her a big hug for me.
