I just adopted this puppy from a foster home and the lady and her vet said he is an american bulldog but many people that see him insist he is a pitbull. Can I please get your opinions? At 10 weeks old he is 17 pounds and my vet said he is underweight because you can see his ribs. His foster home found him abandoned in a apartment with no food or water.

Simply put, just like your baby pics compared to your adult pics, there is no way to tell at this age. Wait til the dog matures around 7 to 9 months. This is when generally a dog starts to show body shape, size, coat and head that better helps determine what it is.

I have a 4 month old Scott Breed american bulldog n your pup looks identical to my female amer. bulldog. Its so crazy i can tell from the pics they have very similar personalities too. My pup sleeps the exact sameway with her favorite toy, her monkey ii bought her the 1st day she came home at 8 weeks. and the way she lays on the on me youll have a wonderful dog there for many years

Looks like an american bulldog to me. but then the bully breeds look similar.
