I just adopted Dexter a month ago, from a Beagle Rescue Shelter. He does have characteristics of a Beagle, but looks like he is also some type of mix. I picked him out of the litter, cause he was the most unique looking. The rest of his brothers and sisters, were tri-colored also, but lacked the ticking. Anyone know what mix he might be?

Oh my goodness. He is gorgeous!!!! I'm a terrier addict but I'd make an exception for him any day LOL! It is really to soon to know what could be in the mix but he looks to me far more like a basset than a beagle. The ticking could be basset, or pointer, or collie or even Jack Russell so you will have to wait and see how he looks and acts when he is more mature - 9 months/a year - but wow! What a wonderful puppy.

Why thank you He is my baby. You are right now that I think of it. I do see a little basset in him.

I am seeing Dacshund---There are 2 sizes and the coat comes in 3 distinct types. It is mixed with something else though--maybe beagle or ?.
