We bought her last week. The lady said she believed the mom was boston terrier. She's wirehaired and has a docked tail. She is 11 weeks old....weighs 5 lbs now...and the vet said she will be around 15 lbs. Thanks for any responses!

The photos aren't showing up. Did you not see her with her mother and the rest of the litter? It is really too soon to tell anyway, even with photos. When my dog was 11 weeks old the vet said that he was a border collie (I had seen his mother and aunt and the pups from two litters so I knew what I had!) but the vet insisted because of his coat and the size of his paws that he was a border collie cross. He is now 3 years old, about 10 inches tall and weighs 15lb and clearly the rather poor example of a Jack Russell that I knew he was all along.

If you don't see the mother there is no chance really of knowing what breed you have, certainly not at 11 weeks.

That one should work. I didn't get to see the mother. I was told she was a boston terrier...but pictures that I have seen on the internet point towards her being a border terrier...she looks identical to the pictures and breed descriptions.

No that doesn't work either. But the point is that like baby photos you can not tell from a photo of a baby or a puppy what the adult will look like. Why did you not see the mother?

We purchased her from a lady who couldn't take care of her anymore. We knew we weren't getting a purebreed dog and we didn't pay for one...only gave $50 for her. We just wanted to help the little girl out.

Poor pup - only 11 weeks and already in her second home. At least it sounds like she has landed on her feet with you and she will be well looked after for the rest of her life.
