What breed mix is my Felix made of?

Hi. I recently adopted an adult dog, probably around 3 to 5 years old. His name is Felix. He used to be a stray. Can you help me figure out what breed mix he could possibly be?

I would say German Shepherd, definitely and maybe kelpie or collie?

Thank you both! Yes, i'm trying to keep him happy!! he was hit by a car before i adopted him so we're trying to take good care of him.
I always get he kinda looks like a german shepherd, so I think that's one of his breeds right there, but I'm still wondering about the other one !!! I'm googling every mix I can with german shepherd to see if a get a guy that looks like him!!

wow, i just found a picture of a lovely dog that sure looks like my Felix. She's a beagle/shepherd mix... =)

I will say the same thing--I thought some beagle when I first looked at your pics but I didn't say anything then because he looked so big for a beagle --but if he is mixed with a bigger breed, I guess he could be bigger than a beagle! So I say-yeh!---German Shepherd/beagle mix.

Thanks! Yes, it makes more sense to me, he's sometimes calmed like a german shepherd but then the mischievousness of a beagle comes out...Besides, he's got the white chest and white paws, just like a beagle. He's actually not that big, he's medium-sized, about 37lbs. ..Is there any way to tell which one was the german shepherd and which one was the beagle, mother or father? I've seen pics of other beagle/shepherd mix dogs and some look a lot like mine, but some have longer ears, for example...I guess that's crossbreeding, right there...

After all, he's awesome, whatever breed mix he is...

No expert here but I don't see how you would ever be able to tell which breed was the father or mother! I don't know what sites you have checked on for pics of the different breeds but here is a good link on a lot of dif. breed pics and info: Dog Breed Info Center®, DBI
On that home page --just click on all breeds and there might be mixed breeds as a title too----Good site---a lot of things there!

FYI: In a breeds book I have, a male beagle is: (These are averages of course)14-16" (shoulder down) and weighs on the average-22 to 25#. A German Shepherd male= 24-26" (shoulder down) and weighs 75-95#. (average)

I've seen many German Shepherd/Beagle crosses that look JUST like him, so that would be my guess. He's cute
