before you stand any chance of guessing the breed. Just thought I would share some photos of my dog so that you can see the changes he went through in just one year.
First of all at 8 weeks - he looks a little like a spaniel doesn't he? Or perhaps a collie?
Here he is at 9 months - his coat has lost its wave and he looks more like a collie:
And here, just three months later on his first birthday, look how long his coat has grown:
Along with the changes in the length and texture of his coat, the colouring has changed as well. As a pup he had a black head, with a tan mask and white flash - by 9 months the black had nearly all gone to be replaced by white and tan.
Now at three years the black saddle that you see in the photo on his first birthday is full of white hairs giving an aged grey appearance.
What breed do you think he is now? When I chose him I met his mother, her sister, I saw another 10 pups from their two litters so I know what I've got. I know he is a Jack Russell terrier. But if I'd asked folk to id him at 8 weeks I bet no one would have known what he was!
