Default So hey, what breed is my dog?

I'm quite puzzled. He's still a puppy and he seems to be a breed of some sort, despite being quite the cute pup.

I'd very much appreciate a fast reply o: Thanks in advance.

I know you are impatient but afraid you will need to be patient! Your cute puppy is not old enough to make a very good guess. He is going to change in looks-- maybe even color as well. Save this pic and compare it to him in about 8 months---You will not recognize him! Show us a pic. when he is done growing and changing! Will be glad to give you some guesses then. Keep us posted with pics as he changes.

If you take a look at this thread:

Why you need to wait until your dog matures

You will get some idea of the changes a dog can go through from puppy to adult. I knew what my dog would be because I saw his mother and the rest of the litter but even my vet insisted he was a border collie. Your pup could be a collie or a spaniel or a terrier - if you don't see the mother you really don't have a clue.

I agree with Corky/Max...you really have to wait several months. Pups go through so many changes. If you have no clue as to who either parent is, then its a real guessing game. When they are less than 6 months old, adult weight is just a soft estimate also. I do rescue and we have had litters where we obviously know who the mother is, but the sire is anyone's guess. And, still, with that much information and 20 years of experience, we have ended up with surprises. We had a pure boxer come to our doorstep that whelped within hours. Based on the weight progression of the puppies and knowing who mom was, we estimated their adult weight at about 60 lbs, no more. We received some interesting followup pictures and phone calls a few months later when they were on the way to being 90 lbs dogs! By 8 months it was apparent that a Great Dane possibly had contributed to this litter. Fortunately, we always warn our adopters that adult weights are an estimate.
Just for fun, though, if we are taking wild guesses at your puppy's breed, I agree with cigwyllt....the first thing I thought was border collie or maybe spaniel.
Keep in touch with pics!
