Can someone Identify my dog?
I am unsure of his breed. At first I thought he was a Pit Bull, but now at 7 months (55 lbs - 22" from floor to back) I think he is now to large to be one. Others have suggested a Boxer/Lab cross, and recently I encountered someone who swears he is a Dogo Argentino. I posted his photo in my album and as my Avatar, Have a look and tell me what you think.
Thanks.

Just a Boxer :-)
Your dog really just looks like a Boxer. Not even a mix. I think what may be throwing some people off is the ears, but that's just a matter of confirmation. I don't really see any Pit Bull in your dog. I do rescue, and the founder of the group who did Pit Bull rescue for 10 years, agrees. We get Pitties in and we help the local Boxer rescue.
Owners often have their Boxer's ears cropped (I like natural, just for the record), so it can make the dog looked "mixed," especially when the dog is "well-endowed" with ears...lol.
Everything else about his confirmation says Boxer. Just my opinion :-)

Not a boxer
We had it to the veterinarian, and also spoke with a few breeders and they have assured us that it is not a Boxer, not a pure bread anyway. They seem to think it is a Boxer/Lab which is what we have been going with. He doesn't have the mushed in face like a boxer, he does have a prominent snout. He is also one hell of a swimmer and the last couple boxers I've had wouldn't go past chest deep. However I ran into someone who has owned these Dogo Argentino's all his life and he was dead sure that this is what it was.

That person who said Dogo Argentino may be right!! Take a look at this link: Dogo Argentino Information and Pictures, Dogos Be sure to scroll all the way down as the 'ads' in the middle are misleading---There is more and be sure to click on the link on this 1st page--1 more page of pics there. Also be sure to read the description, etc.
