Hi, I am from India. There have been some breeds that were indigenous to our country, however, since there has been no research on it, most of them are now lost. I am trying to do some research into these breeds and get more information. My aim is to sensitize animal lovers from my country to appreciate our Indian dogs. Here most people end up buying pups from pet shops and puppy mills. Everyone wants breeds that were introduced by the British. Very few dog lovers adopt dogs from the street and shelters. I want to change that negative perception of the Indian dogs. Any advise on how I can trace the genetics of a homeless mixed breed would be welcome.
