Hello,

I have a wonderful red dog named Spike. I believe he is a long hair chihuahua mix. The rescue group suspected pekingese or pappillion. We think maybe some sort of spaniel. He is pretty tall and about 20 pounds. I can see the chihuahua but I cannot figure out what other breed might give him his size. Any ideas....???

I am prob. wrong but the full face pic. made me think of my Corky (gone now) and he was a golden retriever/cocker spaniel mix. I may be seeing Corky in a lot of dogs right now --I am still missing him a lot. Do you have any idea how old he is--if he will get bigger and change in looks, he may look completely different.

I may be all wrong about this too as I know there are breeds with the tannish color nose, but there can be a problem with some dogs using plastic bowls. I also noted there didn't seem to be much hair around the nose--kind of bald there? Anyway here is a link to a thread in here that I replied to a while back. Kind of ignore the 1st post there and see what I posted in the 2nd post--a lot of links there too. Even if your dog may not appear to have this problem---It is still good info to know.------------->

He looks a bit like a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel in the face, though I can certainly see why the rescue thought he was part Peke. He's adorable, whatever his lineage is!
