Welcome to the forum!
Although your pup is not done growing/changing in looks, I am guessing there is some Miniature Pinscher there although your dog must have a bigger breed there also as in pics it looks like it is bigger than a Miniature Pinscher.---Maybe some Doberman Pinscher? A number of breeds (according to my Breeds Book) were drawn on to develop the Doberman--including Rottweilers, German Pinschers, German Shepherd Dogs and Manchester Terriers to produce the Doberman--so you can see how your dog could have features of many breeds. Although your dog is going to get even bigger--I am curious as to how much she weighs and how tall she is from top of shoulder down right now? What is your girl's name?
I don't think the Miniature Pinscher or the Doberman have white in their coloring except an all white Doberman--so must be another breed in there too!
Here are a couple of links to a good site for pics and descriptions. Be sure to scroll all the way to bottom of the pages as more pages of pics to click on at bottoms. http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/miniatur...herphotos3.htm

I agree with Corky/Max. Maybe there's some rat terrier in there too? That could explain the white fur patches.

Actually the Manchester was not part of the mix until the late 1890's after Karl Frederich Louis Dobermann's death. Ossling introduced it so it really was not part of the original breed. In all likelihood, Rots, smooth coated standard Schnauzer (known today as the German Pinscher) and the Beauceron are now considered to be the original breed stock. The color combination of black & rust/tan is found in so many breeds it is difficult to tell if this is from a Miniature Pinscher or not considering the Miniature Pinschers comes in several different colors where the Beauceron only Black & Tan/Rust.
This could even be a cross of a Miniature Pinscher and a Kelpie based on the head and ears and size.

I can see by him sitting on the sofa that he is too big at 4 months old to have miniature anything in him. He looks part dobe and with those ears standing up like they do I am wondering if there is GSD in him too. Maybe his parents were dobe and dobe/gsd mix.

She has quite a curled tail. I wonder about that. Do the Kelpie or Beauceran have curled tails? At her size, which is not very big, a mid sized dog, she could really be mixed with alot of different dogs... even largish mixed with smallish. Black and tan is a dominant colour, and could come from MANY different breeds. Dobermans do not naturally carry their ears up, they have ears very similar to a Weimereiner. But Min Pins can carry their ears up... sometimes, as well as Manchester Terriers. The curled tail is also a dominant trait, if one of her parents had a curled tail, then most or all of the pups will have a somewhat curled tail, some maybe more than others... unfortunately, a curled tail can come from many small-med-large dogs!
What is she like temperament-wise?

Beauceron's resemble somewhat the GSD. It is a french herding dog that is basically the same size as Herr Dobermann's pinscher. Comes in Black & Tan with medium coat. Tail is like that on a GSD.
The ears on this dog do not resemble either MT or MP ears. The set is correct meaning high on top of the head but the shape is totally incorrect.
The standard "smile" of the MP is not correct on the muzzle either. The tan or rust will carry all the way to the nose and mouth line. On this pup, the tan starts approx halfway back on the muzzle.
Being the combination of Black & Tan is common in many breeds, to link MP just because of the color would be a big mistake. The coat in addition appears to be longer and soft coated. MP's commonly do not carry a coat like this.

Check out the Basenji... they look pretty close, have the pig-like curly tail, erect ears, come in colours similar to yours, are a mid sized dog, have a wrinkly forehead. Could be part of her mix

The colouring of her legs look very similar to my girl. We have determined the Lab in her but her cross is now a toss up between Kelpie or GSD. You can see pics of her on my thread.
