A Special Thread for All Rottie Lovers
We have had dogs all our lives, mongrels, close breeds and many Alsatians. Every one of them have been loved and treated like a child and our grief at losing them is never ending. We think of each one of them every single day.
When our last dog, an Alsatian died suddenly at 6 years old through bloat, we decided to go for a different breed to ease the pain of having another Alsatian.
We decided on a Rottie and rescued one from a very reputable kennels. He had strayed and the owner reluctantly signed him over to the kennels. We think it was because there were children in his former home and he does not like them at all.
We are delighted with him and never ever thought that a Rottie could be so loving and affectionate. He is far more loving than any other dog we have had. For a muscular and powerful dog, with a very strong bite, one would never imagine the affection he gives. In the home he is a real softy, but this can change in a split second to a good impression of a T-Rex with a sore bum.
On the one side he is a loving and extremely affectionate dog, whilst he can change to a very destructive and powerful force to protect his owners and property at an instant on the other. We want a dog that can meet threats without fear and is dedicated to protecting his home and everything in it. I have the same total commitment.
Well, if this is what Rottie`s do, I can only be extremely grateful and privileged to be the proud owner of one.
I think they must be one of the best breeds that a person can possibly own and I am so grateful that I am blessed with the sheer honour of owning one.
Calling all Rottie owners - do you find the same wonderful benefits of these dogs as we do ?
You can see this man-shredder in "Funny Dog Pictures - Guard Dog on Duty", just look for Rottie.
