Default New 9 month old Husky

Hey all, ill try and make this short I bought myself a 9 month old Husky today, Vet checked and chipped. For what i can see she is a great dog she has been to doggy school a few times from the last owner. I would just like to ask a few questions and would like some help on how to raise to better.

One thing is, tonight is the first night but i put her in the garrage for the and she cried and howled and wouldnt really stop, so i took her bed and it's now sitting next to the backdoor. She seems fine now but after reading a few things im really worried that she will jump the fences. The fences are a bout 6 foot. What would be some advice on this, so she can sleep easier. My dad isnt really keen to have her inside so im not sure what to do.

two, what are some good ways to train her so she will listen to me. She is slowly getting the hang of sitting.

and i think thats all i can really think of besides just any help i could get from everyone, it would mean so much. She is the first husky i've owned, my last family pet was a black labrador.

Oh and just a quick edit, for her meals/diet, what would be ideal for her? to keep her healthy, strong, happy and so forth? I'm really new to this whole dog owner.

So yea thank you for your time and any help would be appreciated.

Brent Gillin

If she's not going to be allowed inside where are you going to keep her?..Huskies need to be with their people...That's most likely why she's crying especially if her previous owners kept her in the house...They also require a lot of excersize..They are a very high energy breed and they sometimes have a tendency to suffer from seperation anxiety and they can also be very attention needy..

she's not allowed to sleep inside but when im home ill usually always be with her, she's stopped the crying for now. There is a kennel next to the back door that she is now happy to sleep in, was made for her today and when we got home she went straight to it. Thank you for the reply
