Hey everyone Im new here. My name is John and im a firefighter in Wisconsin and today we just adopted our first puppy. We think he is about 8 weeks old and was told he was a beagle, but im not too sure. I cant tell what he is. I want to say jack russel terrier /Chihuahua mix. But when I compare pics of Chihuahuas with him he doesnt look like it. Any help is appreciated! thank you!!

At 8 weeks he really is too young to make anything other than a guess at his breed - he will change a lot over the coming weeks/months. Why did the shelter say he was a beagle? Did they have his mother and the rest of the litter?

To me he looks like a Jack Russell - I can't see any chihuahua in him. But really it is far too soon to tell.

True about the age, so young. Was just told his mother is pure bread beagle but the father is unkown

Hi, no I have not heard of that town. I moved here from california 2 years ago. As I look more into it im actually thinking a rat terrier/ jack russel mix

My dad has a chihuahua Mix that has had a few different litters with a Jack Russel and they resemble your little boomer. So I think you may be right, I dont think he looks like a beagle, but like others said he is still young.
