Husky1, your dogs are so beautiful. I'm sorry you lost Wolfy.

Our next dog will be a Husky, we have decided. We have three now (American Eskimo, border collie mix, and shepherd/Rott mix) so we don't want to overextend ourselves, but I look forward to owning a Husky at some time in the future.

I don't have any Huskies, but they are such beautiful dogs. From what I understand, they need lots of room to run though. So I'm waiting to get one for when I have more property. I would love to have one though.

i have 2 sibes Jagger my red male and Alaska my grey female. i could talk about my babies forever but ill restrain myself. Jagger we got as a 7 week old pup and he hav and amazing personalitythat everyone seems to love. and Alaska is quite scared of everything she had a pretty rough life before us her first year and home she was beaten pretty badly, her second she was tied up outside on a farm for the next 2 years with no socialization from people and when we got her it took us 6 hours to try to get her to come into the house in -35 degree celcius weather with the door wide open. weve had her for a year now and she loes me unconditionaly now. its taken her a real long time to come around but she seems to be enjoying the good life now. and as long as shes happy i am too. and this is a pic i took yesterday of them

Default Interested in how big she'll get

hi there i'm a decently new husky owner. I got shinook at 8 weeks she is now 23 weeks. She is the best investment i have ever made. She is my best friend and i love her to death. I can not believe how smart and brave she is, she doesn't take crap from any other dogs no matter how big, and she learned all the basic commands in about a week. My question is how big will she get, I've read about it and seen other husky's but I've been told shinook is small for her age, here's some recent pics and some younger pics. She just started teething too, so i don't know if that helps anyone gauge her growth.

Shinook at 15-17 weeks:

Shinook today at 23 weeks:

[I] HAVE A BEAUTIFUL SILVER AND WHITE BLUE EYED MALE PUREBRED NAMED Mikko. He is sweet and playful. I am trying to break him of his food guarding issue. I was ignoring it, but now I feel he shouldn't do it. Other than that, he is a sweetie. I do, however have to remind him that I am ahead of him in the pack. My husband, in his eyes is the leader and he always minds him. I want to work at training Mikko better, so he can be inside more without destroying the house. Is this possible?? Has anyone else experienced food possesiveness with their Husky?
Gwen

Default My new Sibe- Nikita Josephine

Hello everyone,
Just got my baby girl two weeks ago. She was 7 weeks and already house broke. when she has to go, she finds me and howls and runs to the door, or sits at the door points her nose to the sky and howls. It is so awesome to walk downstairs, see her sleeping on my leather ottoman, then hear her talking to me as I go to get my cup of coffee. and the best part is, my wife who didn't think she was a dog person, has fallen in love with Nikita. even let her sleep in the bed, I almost fainted when I put her in and she didn't kick me out. LOL.
I have five boys at home and she fits in to the pack like a glove. and yes, she is not the weak one in the pack, she made sure we all knew that.
I can't say enough about how wonderful she has been. here are some pics from the first day. ( If I can get them to load ))howling.jpg

A close family friend had a Siberian Husky when I was growing up. I loved their dog. She was beautiful. I remember she would howl pretty often and we would say she was singing. Hehe.
