I had a siberian husky named Vajlis. He was a magnificient, highly intelligent siberian, almost human in his personality, a dog with a friendly, mischievous eyes and the most beautiful smile in the world. Sometimes mot quite obedient dog with a gregarious but indipendent nature, like all other siberians, he had a great zest for life, boundless love in his heart, especially for children, and a mischievous spirit.Vajlis was a nature lover who enjoys playing, digging, walking and running, and he walked with such elegance aware of his beauty and strength. He was also warm, charming and gentle companion, almost member of our family, and we loved him very much !!!

I have a Siberian Husky. He's almost 8 years old now. I got him 2 years ago from a shelter i work/volunteer at. He's beautiful and his name is Baron. He was brought in by a couple who was taking care of him for their 'friends' just "for the weekend". the friends of the couple never came back. I wanted to investigate the case and went to talk to neighbours of where the dog's owner lived. I found out he was majorly neglected. Being almost 6, he didn't get much attention from interested adopting families. However I fell in love with him, whose name when he was brought in was Killer. I hated his name and changed it to Baron, named after my hometown hockey team. Anyways, to sum it up, Baron is a wonderful dog. So happy he's in my life.

 Hi all new to the forum today, thought i would put some info of my 3 sibes here also, some experiences also. My dogs are as follows

wolfy (13.5 yrs)

suka (10 yrs)

mishka (20 mnths)
I have a bluemerle border collie too. Wolfy was my first husky ,hes really laid back ,i used to race with my collie & sibes suka/wolfy , but they are too old now. wolfy was from a breeder , suka was from a private home , they didnt want dogs anymore as worked long hours, so we took suka on, we was her 5th home at only 10 mnths old when we got her!!!!!!!!!! shes now 10 yrs old , a quiet sibe also. Mishka came from a private home also we got her at 9 wks old , such a pretty girl now. I take my sibes to fun dog shows. I have a garden that looks like a prison camp to contain the sibes as they can be destructive , but i have been lucky so far to have content , well behaved sibes. I have found that folks dont understand that u cant let sibes run loose also. I run mishka attached to a springer ,which is attached to my bike frame , she wears a tracking harness when running like this. Great fun this is.

New Siberian Husky owner
Hi, we are new here, and found this forum by sheer luck. I have a young Siberian Husky (red and white with ice blue eyes), which I adopted from a rescue group in 2005. So, we don't know my dog's exact age.
My dog's name is Ranger, and he is sooo beautiful, it is incredibly hard to believe that he was up for adoption. Although he is very, very high maintenance, we love him so much and couldn't imagine life without him.
Ranger is my second Siberian. My first boy died in early 2005 at the age of 12 years and 9 months. So, I guess that you could say that I am an experienced Siberian owner.
I do love all dogs (having had greyhounds and spaniels growing up), but I would especially love to hear from other Husky owners.
Bye for now, Ranger and his mom.

Hi Rose!
Hi Rose! It is great to see you back online. I was just reading an article about how certain types of mulch can be toxic to dogs. Have you heard about this?
If anyone else is interested in reading the article about this important subject, please let me know!
Bye for now, Janet and Ranger.

Forgot to mention Ice!
I forgot to mention Ice, and to ask about whether you do agility with your Border Collie.
My dog trainer has two Siberian Huskies and one Australian Shepherd. She does agility with one of her Siberians and her Australian Shepherd. She encouraged me to start agility with my Siberian, Ranger. We have only just started about three months ago, so we have a long way to go!
Bye!

Loved those photos!
Hi Rose, the photos of Mishka are beautiful. Ranger also loves water, both the wading pool at the kennel, and also the ocean. We have never even had to coax him into the water, he just goes in because he loves it!
Bye!

I love huskies
I have a husky and i love him to death but he is the hardest little guy to train. I have been working with him for 2 years and assreting my role as alpha and he still has the need to challenge me everyday to see if I have changed my mind. And then preceeds to do the signiture husky talking when he sees I havent. He has to work for everything and I have tried to stay consistent about asserting my dominance, but its a constant battle. I still love him though. I just hope we will give up the fight eventually.

Seppala, your puppy looks almost identical to my dog. I've always thought he was a husky mix, but looking at your dog and the pics of the other huskys, I'm thinking he's just the same as yours. My 10 year old thought the pic of your puppy was our dog... I had to point out to her the ears, our dog has a flopped over ear, we think because of an injury that occured before we got him.
