Default Scared of Kitten :-(

I have a 2 year old hunterway dobbie X and he is scared of our new addition to the family a small 6 month old moggie cat! I do understand his timidness with our new member as Krouger(the kitten) does have a major dislike of Chip(the dog) and chases him. Any good tips on how to get the two to get along better I don't like my dog being uncomfortable in his own home. Kitten is happy if dog is outside and dog is happy if the cat is upstairs but would be nice to have both in the same room.

This is really not that uncommen. The dogs are usually more scared than the cats/kittens. It sounds funny, but true. Give them some time. I've seen a few cases where within a week or two they become friends.

It could be due to one bad experience he had before. Probably your dog was scratch in the nose or something by a kitten. That why your dog is afraid of kittens. Just give them time. They would get to each other better.

Have patience, my dear. Give both animals time to adjust to their new situation. Maybe they're used to being the only "pet" around the house. You know, sibling rivalry? Animals have that too.

Dogs and cats could be friends. You just have to set the proper environment for them to feel that none is being neglected in favor of another.

Just give them a little time and show them that the pet is a new member to your household. They'll get used to each other eventually. Just think how confusing it must be for your dog.
