Default Is your dog the barky type?

Am I correct the term is barky? I mean, does your doggie like to bark or is he the silent type? My dog cucot, well, not really that great barker but he usually does his barking spree late at night and into the dawn when almost everyone is fast asleep. kind of disturbing actually, sometimes, I would get out of my bed and tell him to stop 'cause his bark is loud enough to wake up the whole neighborhood. ;D I just ssssshhhh him like that and he'll come running home from his post. I guess he really just wants to play curfew dog to those who are still out on the street on those hours.

what do you think, has it something to do with the breed? or are dogs really like that?

I heard that it has something to do with the breed. That's why I research about the breed first before buying or adopting. I don't particularly like barky dogs.

Our Japanese Spitz/Mini Pinscher and Mini Pinscher are barky dogs! They love to bark, bark and bark! I don't know what's up with them. My Lhasa Apso doesn't bark that much. He barks once in a while.

A lot of it is related to the breed. Certain breeds just bark mor ethan others, and certain dogs just bark more than others.

Wink Mine doesn't bark much at all!

My 3 year old Sheltie-corgi mix rarely barks. He maybe has barked twice since I got him three months ago. And those times were in the middle of the night when he must have heard something or someone outside our apartment. Even then it was a mild "Woof" and just once. I wonder if his previous owner "taught" him not to bark or discouraged it. Since I got him from a shelter, I'll never know.
