I just purchsed a 5month old male Bichon Frise...The Breeder had the puppies in a shed like kennel with lots of other puppies shes breeding....The problem is ever since we brought him home he has been very scared he wont stay off the couch cause he feels safe there and he wont go outside by himself we have to carry him even outside he is scared and shaking we have managed to get him off the couch where he seems to be a lil more playful... He is not house broken he wont pee in the other parts of the house which is nice but he wont go outside either when he does go he is gated in the kitchen where he goes when i have to work and he will not eat during the day..From him being in the kennel for 5 months with not having much human contact I'm afraid its too late...I need Help I'll take any suggestions....

This is very sad. Its not impossible to socialize a puppy after they pass the "critical" socialization period but it is often more difficult.
I think your best bet is to hire a trainer/behaviorist who has experience with undersocialized pups.
