Guess that's one of the consequences of having a young dog. It will really come to a time that they do these kinds of things, keep on biting papers, chairs, shoes, etc. I don't know if giving them a 'dog bone' to bite on will help.

Do you have a crate for her? If not, you should consider getting one to use while your not home. You can give her a stuffed kong to keep her occupied while in the crate.

You should think about a cage for the dog, for when you are not home. For when you are home, you might want to get some of that spray that prevents chewing on items, for certain things that you feel the dog will go after, and you cannot always watch.

Hi Crassus I do have a cage but she Cries all the time and I worry about what the neighbors are thinking.
I would like to know more about the spay that you are talking about. Could I get it at a pet shop any where.
Thanks

Years ago we purchased a Doberman and named her Duchess (of course). She had a taste for the finer things in life. Things like our sofa...One day we came home and she had been a little bored I guess because our sofa was completely torn up and the house was full of stuffing torn out of it. I was not a happy person that day. It was back before I heard about keeping them in a kennel when I was gone. It is the perfect solution to a problem like yours. I am not sure what to do about the barking and your neighbors, but my dogs only do that at first. After a few times of being in there they stop barking and crying. You might try having your dog in the kennel sometimes when you are at home so it will get used to being in there. My dogs know which kennel is theirs and go in there on their own when I say it's time to go to bed. Good luck.

Oh boy. It definitely is a puppy for you. Our dog grew out of it - that was after chewing up the corners of our brand new table. It took a whole lot of patience, and looking her in the face and sternly saying "no!", but she learned.

It was stressful, but just be patient and consistent. I would also suggest confining to a certain room/crate - something while you are gone until you can trust her.
