Jumping -- so frustrated
My lab has always had a jumping problem. Recently it is getting way out of hand. I have 3 pairs of jeans now that she has ripped small to medium sized holes in over the past 2 weeks. I have tried putting my knee up, spraying her in the face with water, and shaking a newspaper at her.
She also when she jumps, jumps with "her teeth" -- that is how I describe it. She doesn't jump and nip at me, but she jumps and puts my arm in her mouth (but doesn't bite, her teeth just scrape my arm). That is painful!
When I get firm attitude with her, she starts to think I'm playing and gets worse.
I also wanted to add that she is 1 year old.
What are my other options to this.

Training collar and leash, and firm corrections. Give her a command Off is good. And of course, praise when she stays four on the floor. I used a tab leash inside for months, but after Rex understood four on the floor, I only needed to correct with the tab a couple of times. I just kept it on you know In Case!

I've always been told that if she knows "down" tell her to do that. She can't jump up if she's laying down. Hope this helps.

Simply ignore her.. When she jumps turn your back to her, and if that doesn't help leave the room.
I also have a young labrador.. which likes to jump, and ignoring her has done the job for me atleast.

I aslo have a young lab, 11 months that likes to jump, going crazy when we come in the door and jumps at us, turning my back and leaving the room does not help with him he thinks i want him to chase me and jump on my back! Most the time i just have to look at him and say STOP! and push him down. he jumps at people when i take him for walks to, so i say NO and he stops. most the time when he jumps at me he just wants a big hug, then he's ok. he's a MAJOR baby.

I know you said you put your knee up, but you need to go a step further and give her a shot to the chest with your knee, and say no! After a month of my 89 lb dob jumping on me i tried that. he's never done it again . still jumps up on my husband but he lets him do that. I was pregnant and needed him to know i wasn't playing.

Jumping is a common complaint. First you should grab the dog firmly by his forarms and put him down when he jumps up with a command NO. If this does not work as Timilee said above a good hit to the chest with your knee will work most times. It may take a couple of times doing these things but try them and do it every time he jumps up. If the problem persists you may need to seek some training.

Dumdog, Helly gave excellent advice, the training collar and leash and or tab will work well, crate, and do not let your dog free to start that behavior, without you being in control. Good Luck!
