As soon as it starts raining in the evening my dog goes mad trying to get out into the garden. My next door neighbour has got a pond and we end up with a lot of frogs the garden. My dog gets hold of them and plays with them but she ends up killing them. How can I get her to leave them alone?

I think it will be a very hard thing for you to keep your dog from playing with the frogs. The only way is not to let your dog out when it rains. The dog is just having fun, part of his hunting instincts.

This is a dangerous thing for your dogs. I don’t know if we have the same type of frog here in our country. The prominent frogs in our country are the bull frog which is poisonous in nature. Your dog might die doing these. Just incase it rain in your area, I think you should prevent him from getting out.

I think that dog training in and of itself is difficult. Here you have a problem that you can't control with the dogs. In that case I think that dog behavior training will be even harder because you can only train whenever it rains. I do really hope that these frogs aren't poisonous. Good luck!

Much like our cat, nonym. He does those things to any moving creatures around the house or in the backyard. And his favorite are lizards, salamander, and birds. He's really notorious for that but we can't control him.

It's really some kind of a "sports" for them so I guess we just have to keep watch always to save those poor animals.

You can't get your dog to leave those frogs alone because they're his toys. You can only keep him away from them before something bad happens.

I don't think that there is really any way to stop their natural hunting behavior. Just show them that you don't approve, and don't let him out after it rains.
