Thumbs down Litter box trained dog now weeing on floor

I'm quietly getting stressed out here and would appreciate any help at all. Here is the problem.

I have a 22month old shih tzu/pomm female dog. She is litter box trained and a house dog. In Feb I travelled o/s and she was housed in a kennel for the first time (3.5 weeks). Litter box went with her to keep it up. 3 weeks after getting home, all of a sudden she starts weeing on the floor. If on the carpet, seems to always be in the same spot, on the tiles, where ever. In the past on the very odd occasion she would have accidents, mainly at night time and I thought she had just been spooked by something and didn't want to go to the litter box. So I have moved the box closer so she doesn't have to go too far in the dark, however this weeing is happening any time of the day/night and if night time it is only a meter/3 feet from the box. I ask her to do a wee wee and point to her box and she does an about face and walks away. I know it doesn't work to scold them unless you catch them in the act, but when I have taken her to her wee spot, she knows it is wrong as she walks away with her head down. I scold her by just saying her name "Angel - No". I don't hit her, yell at her or anything like that, as she does have a nervous disposition and that would only make matters worse. She seems to me to hate the litter box, so I have tryed enticing her in it with treats and if I do happen to catch her using it I reward her with a treat. We did have a neighbours dog come into the house playing with mine and I thought perhaps the other dog used her box, so I have cleaned it out completly with new litter in it, but no difference. I also did catch this other dog about to mark on the spot where my dog has been weeing on the carpet. Of course now I won't allow this other dog in the house. I'm sorry my story is so long but thought I best give all the events that are happening. I would appreciate it if anyone has had this happen for their advice on what they did. Or anyone that could advise me. Confused and stressed out Rose. Help!!! Regards Rose

Thanks for your thoughts. I don't know absolutely for sure the kennel kept up with the box, but I was assured they did. When I bought her home she was actually ok with the box for the first 3 weeks, it was then things started falling apart. Not long after posting my query, I decided to start re-training her, like I initially did when she was a puppy. Also blocking off certain areas of the house and watching her like a hawk. She has had some misshaps when I wasn't paying attention, but is certainly doing better. Hopefully with the praise and treats I give her when she does use the box, it will in time get her back on the right track. However if not, I think a trip to the vet would be in order. Thanks again. And great to hear from someone else who has their dogs litter box trained and doesn't think I'm odd.
