Hi there,
Tyler is a 3 yr old shih-tzu, llasa apso cross. I got him from a rescue and his origins are unknown. He's a well-tempered dog except that he snaps sometimes when people try to pet him. He doesn't seem to like people petting or scratching him on top of his head (likes the chin scratch instead).

He will also snap if he has a toy and another dog gets too close or if someone tries to take the toy away (except for me). This past weekend, he snapped at someone and actually drew blood!

I want to Tyler to stop doing this. Can anyone suggest specific training exercises I can do to get him to stop?

P.S. I don't think it's fear aggression because he's a very confident little dog and doesn't show fear.
