Default Controlling behavior when we're not around...

Ok, I have a pack of dogs (8) and on Sunday one of them attacked and almost killed another. We had let them in the yard to play and heard some weird noises so we went out to check. What we found was 7 of them in a circle around the one who had punctures to his neck, chest, abdomin and near his I LOVE DOGS!I LOVE DOGS!I LOVE DOGS!I LOVE DOGS!I LOVE DOGS!. We immediately took him to the ER vet and he is doing fine now, but we are in shock over the fact that one of our dogs could have done this. We checked over the other dogs and only found one who looked like she had been in the fight. She does have the alpha female attitude and she and the one who was attacked have never been really happy with each other, but we never thought it would come to this. I don't know what to do with her anymore...I know she was acting on instinct but I don't know if I can have her around without being afraid that she'll do it again to him or one of the other dogs. Is there a way to break her of this type of behavior or is it just typical dog stuff? Thanks in advance for your help!
